New and Noteworthy

Late, but GREAT!

Before Valentines students were given a challenge. Our goal was to see if as a class we could complete 100 Random Acts of Kindness. I'll let you decide if we made it.
(Hint, each group has 10 hearts).
What am amazing group to work with!

Our goal is to keep up the Acts of Kindness to continue to ripple we started. We watched this video to help up get into kindness mode, and its a good reminder what effect our kindness has. Get a kleenex ready though, it tugs at the heart strings!

Sneak Peek of the Week

This week is full of exciting events, so be sure to check back next week to see what went on!

We need white liquid glue. We have a few upcoming art projects and it would be great for each student to bring in a bottle.

Book Buddies - our friends from Wilson Middle School are joining us to build relationships and reading skills! So excited to see them again.

In the afternoon Mr. Turnbull is joining us as our guest teacher. We always welcome him back with big smiles.

After school Family Yoga is back! Bring a yoga mat if you have one, and a toonie. It runs from 3:30pm - 4pm in the gym.

       Class Book Orders are due.

The March Celebration of Learning assembly will showcase the morning Kindergarten classes. It starts at 8:45am, and we'd love to have you come celebrate with them.
Our latest Bucket Filler Party is happening in Room 202. The class has been waiting for a beautiful day to take some extra time outside, and Wednesday is looking very promising!

Report cards go home today. Please check your child's backpack.
A quick note about report cards and interviews this round. There will not be formal interviews unless you request one on Friday, March 20.
Instead we invite you to come with your child on Thursday, March 19 to our Celebration of Learning from 5-7pm. This will showcase some of our most recent learning, and let children be the leaders for the night. This is a wonderful way for you to get a glimpse of your child's learning. They are excited to have you see where they work!

Looking Forward

Hot Lunch forms are due Monday, March 16. Forms have gone home, so if you don't have one please write a note in your child's agenda. Quiznos is the venue, and eating day is Tuesday, March 31.

We are pushing hard for pop tabs. Last year we brought in the most tabs for the Ronald McDonald House, and we'd love to do it again!

Scholastic Book Fair is coming! It will be held in the Library Wednesday, March 18-19. It will even be open during our Celebration of Learning on Thursday night! Be sure to stop by and be swept away by the wonderfulness I call book fair! This event supports our school library, so come out and bring new treasures home!

This workshop is a ways away, but we need volunteers to assist with this one. Scientists in Schools is coming to our classroom to present on BUGS! These are amazing workshops, and it would be great to get 4 more volunteers out to help us. Our date is Wednesday, April 22 from 8:30am- 12pm. The workshops are hands out and very engaging, a crowd pleaser for students and parents! Please email me or make a note in your child's agenda if you're able to help out. Thanks in advance!

Swimming! We are booked to go Tuesday, April 28. This is another event where we will need 4-5 volunteers.
