I would like to thank everyone who came out to the Celebration of Learning. It was really neat to watch students take charge and be such great leaders as they shared their learning with you. The pride students take in times like that is very fun to see!
Another big thanks to everyone who came out and supported the Book Fair! It was a huge success, and I hope anyone who was able to pick up a new book is enjoying them.
After a busy week last week it will be nice to settle down as we make a hard push to Easter break in 2 weeks.

A few lessons we are focussing on this week:
Math - we will continue our addition strategies, and add subtraction this week. We are focussing on facts up to 20. We will also begin our shapes unit and will be looking at 2-D shapes around us this week.
Language Arts - we will finish up our diagraph unit by looking at 'ph', and start looking at word blends. We will be using the book We're All Friends Here as our read aloud for the week. This book looks at friendship, and the habit Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood. We will be using this as a guide for writing topics as well.
Science - we will continue to look at magnets, and will be focussing on North and South poles, and how magnets attract and repel.
Social - we are discovering Iqaluit through stories this week.
We are looking for volunteers for a few upcoming field trips, check the dates below and please contact me through email or a note in your child's agenda if you would be able to to come.
